Highway 97 at Cottonwood Hill (2021-present)

CLIENT
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure

Working on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure as consultant owner’s project manager, Integris is providing planning and management services and coordination of a large multi-disciplinary team composed of Ministry staff and external consultants to deliver this project through planning to detailed design and construction.

The scope of work includes the installation of rock groynes, realignment of Highway 97 to avoid a major slide area and stabilization of the landslide area. The project strategy was revised to be delivered over three phases, with the phase one and two now complete and the third under construction, supporting efficient timelines and management of overall project risk.

Our team oversaw complex engineering solutions, extensive geotechnical investigations for a complex slide, external stakeholder management, archaeological and environmental assessments, as well as coordination and property acquisition from BC Rail, and consultation with Lh'tako Dene First Nation and Nazko First Nation. Integris managed a complex budget, conducted long-term forecasting and implementation of risk management strategies to successfully strategize and execute all three phases of this project.
